HistoryA Brief Look Back...Magnum’s inaugural events in New York City in 2004 clearly established Magnum as an authority in the field of event production. Twenty corporate and trade association sponsors hired Magnum to execute a two-day, entertainment-oriented event during, but completely unaffiliated with the Republican National Convention. Held at B.B. King Blues Club in Times Square, the events featured bands ZZ Top, The Marshall Tucker Band, Dickey Betts & Great Southern, SuperDiamond and Kiss Nation. Flawless execution of these events resulted in many of the original sponsors enlisting Magnum Entertainment Group to conduct subsequent events for their own entities. On January 19, 2005, Magnum was retained to plan and execute a large-scale dance club style entertainment event for 1,100 attendees in Washington, D.C. at the 9:30 Club. This event was held during the week of the Presidential Inauguration in Washington, D.C. and featured San Francisco’s SuperDiamond and Los Angeles’ Boogie Knights. Early in 2005 Magnum staged the "unofficial" Miss USA After Party in Los Angeles, CA. Due to the wild success of the event, Magnum has been hired to run all successive "unofficial" events for the Miss Universe and Miss USA After Parties in Panama City, Panama; Quito, Ecuador; Bangkok, Thailand; and Baltimore, MD. The Magnum team's ability to coordinate unique and memorable events resulted in record attendance as well as clients thrilled with guests' ability to get to know the contestants, judges and entertainers in person. Charity and fundraising events are also a specialty for Magnum Entertainment Group. An exemplary charity event event was Magnum's private, multi-sponsored event on behalf of the Mississippi Red Cross. The sold-out event was held at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. and featured live music by Boogie Knights and Burnt Sienna. Absolutely all proceeds were donated to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Mid-sized catered events are integral to business and networking. Magnum has executed several such events with great success. In the fall of 2006, Magnum was hired to host an evening celebrating the close of the 109th Congress at the historic City Tavern Club of Washington. The 100-person plated dinner for key clients was followed by a 600-person celebration with live music. Most recently, Magnum was retained to plan and execute a catered, live music celebration for a large biotechnology company. Magnum secured the penthouse at 101 Constitution Avenue in Washington, D.C. with a stunning view of the U.S. Capitol and set up a heated tent and full stage for the band at the rooftop location. The event was attended by 600+ guests who, despite the event being held on a weeknight, danced and mingled long past midnight. On a more casual note, Magnum has hosted several traditional "Crawfish Boils" in the prominent Wesley Heights area of Washington, D.C., serving 350+ attendees boiled crawfish, Southern cocktails, and cajun-style Zydeco music. Since the inaugural launch events in New York City, Magnum is regularly retained by corporations, trade groups and individuals seeking guidance, assistance and proper execution of successful, high-end private events.
